This year’s Fellows including outstanding mid-career journalists in all media, representing 10 nations and five continents.
The Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship is a unique seminar program for mid-career journalists who want to deepen their knowledge of emotional trauma and psychological injury, and improve reporting on violence, conflict and tragedy. Fellows attend an intensive weeklong program of seminars and discussions held at Columbia University in New York City.
The Dart Center invites midcareer journalists to apply for the 2012 Ochberg Fellowship Program. For the first time the Fellowship is truly global, welcoming applications from midcareer journalists worldwide.
Fourteen journalism educators from six countries will gather at Columbia University for seminars and discussions on understanding emotional trauma and incorporating responsible coverage of tragedy into the curriculum.
The fellowship program, running from June 27 though June 30, provides up to 12 college and university journalism educators with three days of seminars, training and discussion, as well as financial support for innovative curriculum development.
Ten journalists from around the world have been awarded the 2011 Dart Center Ochberg Fellowship.
