Dart Blog New Online Resource for Finnish Journalists
New Online Resource for Finnish Journalists
Finnish-speaking journalists who cover violence and trauma have a new page to bookmark: the official website for the Dart Center Finnish Network. Country Contact Klas Backholm, a Finnish journalism and trauma researcher, will be maintaining the page, which already contains tip sheets, interviews and research findings.
The Finnish Network page is a source for news, resources and upcoming events by and for journalists, researchers, educators and clinicians. The full URL is: http://dartcenter.org/node/1600
Visit now and you'll find:
- An analysis of large-scale crises, from the 2004 Asian tsunami to polluted water in the city of Nokia, and how they've been covered in Finland.
- Photographer Eetu Sillanpää discussing visual storytelling of traumatic stories like the 2008 Kauhajoki school shooting for which he won the Finnish award for best news photo. (You can also read an abridged English-language version.)
