Dart Blog Welcome to the New Australasian Page
Welcome to the New Australasian Page
Welcome to Dart Centre Australasia's new online home. The name ‘Australasia’ is a little deceptive for us as officially this term relates to countries within the bounds of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and neighbouring islands in the Pacific Ocean. Having already been involved with programmes for media professionals from countries such Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia, Japan, New Zealand and East Timor to name a few, Dart Centre Australasia in fact takes in the much broader area of the Asia Pacific. We hope that this page (and this blog) can be a meeting place for you and your colleagues across this region who are interested in the intersect of trauma, tragedy and violence in society as it relates to journalism and media.
Whether you are a manager, photographer, editor, journalist, staff, freelancer or some other variation of media professional, health professional, researcher or student, we hope that this is a place that you can gather for stimulating dialogue and resources. Dart Centre Australasia prides itself on having a very active network across the region; to join in is a simple matter of making contact. You can do this in various ways through our new website — commenting on this blog, emailing potential articles for online publication or by contacting us directly, by phone, webform or email. Our main office is in Melbourne, Australia but in this day and age of the "virtual office" this is no limitation to our active support of our network.
We hope to hear from you soon.
