Symposium: Between Hope & History: When Disaster Strikes

The symposium, co-sponsored by the New York Institute for the Humanities and the Institute for Public Knowledge at NYU, will feature conversations between over a dozen journalists, writers, thinkers, and activists who have faced disaster.

Forum: Truth Commission on Conscience in War

At Riverside Church in New York City, community and religious leaders, advocacy groups and artists, will receive testimony from veterans and experts about moral and religious criteria of just war.
Expert witnesses in addition to veterans will discuss moral questions facing soldiers both before and during combat, international agreements governing the justification and conduct of war, and limits of military regulations of conscientious objection.

Seminar: Documenting Memories of Catastrophe
