Award for Outstanding Media Contributions to Trauma Psychology

The American Psychological Association's Division 56 is psychology's focal point for research, practice, policy development and education on trauma. Division 56 is now accepting nominations for outstanding media contributions to trauma psychology. The deadline is April 15, 2013.

This award recognizes the creator(s) of media presentations for lay audiences that educate the public in a scientifically sound manner about the psychology of trauma. Any kind of work available in any form is eligible (e.g., written word, film, video, web, graphics, etc.). Fiction and non-fiction representations are equally welcome. Nominations should include the names of the creator(s) of the work being nominated, as well as either a full sample of the work being nominated, or a web address for the nominated work, or both. Previous winners are listed on the Division's website: www.apatraumadivision.org.

To enter a project, please electronically submit to the Dart Center’s Research Director and McFarlin Professor of Psychology at the University of Tulsa Elana Newman ([email protected]), Awards Chair, a nominating letter detailing the candidate's suitability for the award, accomplishments, and specifically, the contributions made to the field of trauma psychology. For media awards, if video or film please submit at least three copies. Self-nominations are accepted.
