How the World Came to Save Haiti and Left Behind a Disaster

February 5, 2013
6:00pm

From Columbia University's Center on Globalization and Sustainable Development at the Earth Institute:

Please join Professor Tatiana Wah and author Jonathan M. Katz to discuss their perspectives on the three ears of Haiti’s post-earthquake recovery efforts, both successes and setbacks. They will discuss their perspectives on aid coordination, donor commitment and a range of post-earthquake stories.

Jonathan Katz, a former AP reporter, was the only full time American journalist stationed in Haiti during the 2010 earthquake efforts. In his new book, The Big Truck that Went By: How the World Came to Save Haiti and Left Behind a Disaster, which won the Columbia University and Harvard University J. Anthony Lukas Work-in-Progress award in 2012, Katz recounts the events immediately following the tragedy and the process of recovery and aid.
