Does your clinical practice include news professionals? Do they report on car crashes, cyclones, terrorist attacks or sit for long hours listening to evidence in court? Did they cover the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse? Do they work for long periods viewing raw footage of death, violence or destruction, or are they exposed to graphic content online? Are you interested in working with news professionals as a new clientele?

This half day workshop will present the most current research on journalism and trauma, as well as client-specific information when working with journalists and other news professionals.

Come learn from experts from the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma, the world's leading organisation in this field. Speakers include journalist Bruce Shapiro, Executive Director of the Dart Centre, and political commentator on ABC's Late Night Live, and Dr. Cait McMahon OAM, trauma psychologist and Managing Director, Dart Centre Asia Pacific. Shapiro and McMahon will be accompanied by a special guest and local journalist.
