In Sydney, Australia, Dart Centre Asia Pacific will host a half-day workshop for human resources specialists on working with a trauma-exposed staff. The workshop will cover legal responsibilities, self-care strategies and a broader discussion about newsroom realities.

Are you a HR specialist in a news organisation where staff cover car crashes, cyclones, terrorist attacks, sit for long hours listening to evidence in courts or at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse? Do they sit for long hours viewing raw footage of death, violence or destruction or graphic user generated content online? All of these events have the potential to induce significant traumatic stress reactions.

If you oversee the occupational health and safety needs of staff covering these types of events, you have a legal and moral responsibility to limit their potential for psychological injury.

Bree Knoester, expert lawyer in occupational health and injury management will speak about your legal responsibilities when dealing with trauma exposed staff. Knoester will be joined by journalist Bruce Shapiro, Executive Director of the Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma and political commentator on ABC's Late Night Live, and Dr. Cait McMahon OAM, trauma psychologist and Managing Director, Dart Centre Asia Pacific.

To RSVP, please contact Mrs. Aly Walsh via email or phone: 0411 771 181.
