At Columbia Journalism School in New York City, the Dart Center and Columbia's National Association of Hispanic Journalists will co-sponsor a reading and discussion with Fulbright Scholar Jeff Kelly Lowenstein about his recently published book, The Chilean Chronicles: Moments and Memory Forty Years After the Pinochet Coup.

“Written with a poetic and passionate intelligence, these Chilean chronicles exploe with candid honesty Chile’s soul from its turbulent political history that overthrew president Salvador Allende to the brutality of a military dictatorship and the arrival of Democracy, Jeff Kelly Lowenstein allows the reader to explore this history and its people with a deep sense of place and empathy. An extraordinary achievement.”
