The annual Dart Awards recognize outstanding reporting in all media that portrays traumatic events with accuracy, insight and sensitivity while illuminating the effects of violence and tragedy on victims’ lives.
The 2022 Dart Awards went to the Atavist for "A Feast for Lost Souls" and to the Los Angeles Times for "Disease, Inequity and Resilience in South L.A." Honorable mentions went to NPR's Embedded podcast for "Capital Gazette: A Damn Paper," The Outlaw Ocean Project for The Secretive Prisons that Keep Migrants Out of Europe Outlaw Ocean Project and Vanity Fair for "They Were Sons."
