Applications close March 15, 2023, and the Fellowship will be held on May 24-28, 2023 in Brisbane, Australia. Participants should allow for days either side of those dates for travelling to Australia.

Below are the guidelines for the 2023 Fellowship.

DART ASIA PACIFIC FELLOWSHIP

The Dart Centre Asia Pacific Fellowship offers experienced journalists and their editors in the Asia-Pacific region a special opportunity to share and learn about journalism and trauma.

Upon completion of the program, participants will be known as “Dart Asia Pacific Fellows” and will join an exclusive group of journalists across the region. Fellows are encouraged to continue to advocate for trauma-literacy among journalists, and to support colleagues who are experiencing the impact of trauma.

While applications are strongly encouraged for this 2023 fellowship from journalists in Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu. applications will be considered from anyone in the Asia Pacific region who meet the criteria.

The broad focus of our program will be on the kinds of trauma experienced by journalists in reporting on climate change.

We encourage applying as a two-person team, consisting of a senior journalist and an editor who should apply jointly from the same news organisation (except in the case of freelancers). Each team member is expected to write their own individual application. Single applications will also be accepted. All applications must include the materials listed below, or they will not be considered.
