Funders
Core funding for the Dart Center has been provided by Kenneth Dart, former President and CEO of Dart Container Corporation and a global investor. In May 2014, Kenneth Dart made a $4 million donation to the Dart Center at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. The gift continues the generous support by the family for whom the Center is named.
Prior to 2014, core funding had been provided by the Dart Foundation, a private family foundation established in 1984 by William A. and Claire T. Dart. In 2009 the Dart Foundation committed $7 million over five years to Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in support of the Dart Center.
Additional support for programs has been provided by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Bernard van Leer Foundation, Everytown for Gun Safety, Hearst Newspapers, Jacobs Foundation, Joyce Foundation, Kaiser Family Foundation, Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal Foundation, National Child Traumatic Stress Network, New Venture Fund, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, Two Lillies Fund and UNICEF.
The Dart Center is also grateful for the financial contributions of numerous individuals. To make a donation to the Dart Center, please visit our donations page.
