The Dart Centre for Journalism and Trauma would like to invite interested colleagues to a discussion about trauma-sensitive interviewing skills and self-care techniques when reporting on gender based-violence

Our speakers are:

Award winning reporters from BuzzFeed Germany Pascale Müller and Juliane Löffler
and Legal Advisor Alexandra Lily Kather from the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR)

Although stories on gender-based violence can range from #metoo revelations to various forms of sexual violence  in conflicts and war settings, there are common themes in the challenges we face as journalists when covering them.

We will talk about trauma-sensitive interviewing and psychological self-care, we will also hear about legal do’s and dont’s when publishing stories about those affected by gender-based violence.

The idea is to make this as interactive an evening as possible, as we aim for these network events to be a time-out from our busy every-day lives to reflect on our craft as journalists, among like-minded colleagues.

It would be great to welcome you to the Dart Centre network. Please let our program manager Jeanny Gering know if you can make it and if you intend to bring an interested colleague or friend at [email protected]
