IREX Panel: Keeping Journalists Safe in the Face of Multiple Threats

May 17, 2023
1:00 - 2:30pm
IREX DC Office
United States

As a global leader in supporting freedom of expression in challenging environments, IREX invites colleagues and experts to attend a panel discussion on "Keeping Journalists Safe in the Face of Multiple Threats." Journalists across the globe risk their lives every day to inform the public about the world around them. While covering natural disasters, corruption, elections, public health issues, war, and other topics, journalists face extreme risks to their own physical, digital, and psychosocial safety. For 10 Years, IREX’s SAFE initiative has supported more than 8,000 media professionals across 18 countries by hosting trainings and workshops, providing psychosocial support, managing their online presences, and fostering communities to advocate for and support journalism.

Panel offered in person and online (online at a link to be distributed). Participation for both in-person and online require registration here.

Speakers at this event will include:
