Waveney Ann Moore
Waveney Ann Moore is a general assignment reporter for the St. Petersburg Times. She was a member of the team that covered Rev. Henry Lyons, former head of the National Baptist Convention U.S.A, who was sent to prison for swindling more than $5.2 million. Born in Guyana, South America, Moore grew up an avid reader in a country without television. She came to the United States in 1971 and is a naturalized American citizen. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English and Communications from the College of New Rochelle in New York. She worked for the Kansas City Star and several gourmet food magazines before joining the Times in 1994.
